Ever thought about trying Radio Control Model
Aircraft Flying? Yes, that looks exciting; I
just have to do it. Then reality and doubts
start take over.
What equipment do I need? What plane should I
get? What transmitter should I get? How many
channels should the transmitter have? What is a
channel? Will I even like it once I try it? If
this is your situation do we have a deal for
you!
The Rock Valley R/C Flyers Club holds four
Training Days each year to introduce prospective
Flyers to the exciting sport/hobby that is Radio
Control Aircraft Flying.
How does it work?
Easy, show up at the field during one of our
scheduled Trainer Days and sign up. One of our
Club Members will explain how the transmitter
and airplane works together to make the airplane
fly. When your name is called, an Instructor
will take you up on a buddy-box. Once the plane
is airborne, the Instructor flips a switch on
his master box giving control to you. The
Instructor "talks" you through the maneuvers.
If you need additional assistance the Instructor
releases the switch to regain control of the
airplane before turning it back to you.
What do I need to bring?
Just bring a good sense of humor and a desire to
"give it a try." The Rock Valley R/C Flyers
Club supplies all equipment.
What is the cost?
The only cost is your time to try this exciting
sport/hobby. Everything else is taken care of
by the Club.
Do I have any liability?
The answer is simple, NO! It is the
Instructor’s responsibility to insure you don't
get into trouble.
Age Restriction
We do require that all Trainees are at least ten
(10) years old.
If you would like to try this exciting
sport/hobby or have done it in the past and want
to become reacquainted, stop out at our Field
for a "Trainer Day." Check our "Calendar" page
for dates and time in June, July, August, and
September. Also, check ”Our Field" page for
location.
Hope to see you at the Field.
